Zadar Region Emerging as a Key MICE and Enogastronomy Destination

A presentation of the tourism and eno-gastronomy offer of the Zadar Region was held at the Hilton Garden Inn Zagreb, organized by the Zadar County Tourist Board under the leadership of director Hrvoje Anić. The event aimed to strengthen cross-sectoral cooperation, promote the region, and lay the foundations for further development of the MICE segment and eno-gastronomy tourism.

Authentic Enogastronomy

In recent years, the Zadar Region has been steadily building its identity as an eno-gastronomy destination. Viticulture and olive growing have a long tradition in the county, while at the same time a modern culinary scene is developing, combining local ingredients with contemporary trends.

The increasing number of visitors and the growing recognition of events such as the Zadar Wine Festival confirm that the region is becoming an important player on Croatia’s eno-gastronomy map. Special emphasis is placed on the promotion of indigenous wine varieties, olive oil, Pag cheese, and seafood delicacies, which form the backbone of its premium tourism offer.

Wine in Focus

A highlight of the Zagreb presentation was the wine tasting accompanied by food pairings. Under the expert guidance of sommelier Ivan Stiblik, guests had the opportunity to taste wines from different parts of the Zadar County, featuring indigenous varieties such as Maraština and Svrdlovina, as well as international varieties that have found a distinctive expression in the Zadar terroir.

The wines were paired with dishes prepared from local ingredients by chefs Tomislav Karamarko and Bruno Kalmeta, further underscoring the strong connection between wine and gastronomy. The event also included a workshop dedicated to Zadar wines, as well as an overview of current trends and the results the region has been achieving on the market.

Outlook for MICE and Enogastronomy Tourism

Organizers emphasized that the presentation successfully brought together representatives from various sectors – from winemakers and restaurateurs to event agencies and tourism professionals – thereby achieving one of its key goals: creating opportunities for new collaborations and joint projects.

“This gathering represents further affirmation of the Zadar Region, as well as an opportunity to promote products and producers. We believe that the contribution of participants will be significant in the continued development and recognition of the destination,” stated the Zadar County Tourist Board.

The Zagreb presentation demonstrated how the Zadar Region is systematically building its position on Croatia’s eno-gastronomy and MICE scene. With a rich tradition, a growing number of quality winemakers, and events such as the Zadar Wine Festival, the region has all the prerequisites to become an unmissable destination for lovers of wine, food, and business events.

With the slogan “Say YES to everything”, the invitation was extended to all who wish to experience an authentic combination of gastronomy, wine, culture, and natural beauty in the Zadar Region.
